Gene Ficken

House District 23 -- Buchanan Co. and parts of Black Hawk and Fayette Counties.

Lifelong Iowan, Dedicated to Education, Committed to Community
Gene Ficken grew up on a farm in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  A resident of Buchanan County for 42 years, Gene dedicated his career working with and for the students of Independence High School as a teacher and coach.  As a member and former congregational president of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, former youth coach and member of Jaycees & Kiwanis, Gene has been committed to the improvement of his community. 
Dedicated in the Legislature
Representative Ficken is serving his first term for District 23.  He serves on the Education Committee (Vice Chair), Veterans Affairs, Natural Resources, and Education Appropriation Subcommittee.
